Every teacher should reflect on the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards and state standards prior to adopting technology in the classroom. These frameworks serve as essential guides, ensuring that selected technologies align with learning objectives, are suitable for students’ developmental stages, and enhance the curriculum. Key reasons for this consideration include curriculum alignment, which ensures that technology supports essential skills and knowledge; student-centered learning, which encourages active engagement and personalized experiences; and fostering digital citizenship, which incorporates online safety and ethical technology use. Additionally, adhering to these standards promotes effective integration of technology, facilitates assessment and evaluation of student progress, informs professional development needs for teachers, and ensures compliance with educational guidelines. In conclusion, considering these standards enables teachers to make informed technology choices that enhance overall learning outcomes for their students (L. Team, 2024).
